The sock we can't keep off our feet. A Nimmo Bay Staff favourite.

Thermohair socks have been a Nimmo Bay favourite for years. Our guests love them, and they're a staff favourite too. When our team shops for themselves, these are one product they reach for again and again.

Made in Canada from 75% kid mohair and 25% nylon, these socks are exceptionally warm, soft and durable without the bulk of a traditional winter sock. The higher crew length makes them especially good under boots, whether you're heading out for a day in the rain, working outside or settling in somewhere warm.

Mohair is naturally insulating and remarkably strong, while remaining soft against the skin. It's one of those materials that feels surprisingly luxurious for something designed to work hard.

Why we love them

  • Warm without feeling heavy or bulky
  • Soft and comfortable against the skin
  • Naturally insulating kid mohair
  • Durable enough for everyday wear and outdoor adventures
  • Higher crew length for wearing with boots
  • Made in Canada

Kid mohair comes from young Angora goats and is prized for its softness, strength and warmth. The fibre is sometimes called the “diamond fibre” for its exceptional strength.

A note on fit: If you have wider feet and are at the top of a size range,f consider sizing up. The grey is 10% thicker than the other colours for added warmth.  Fit Guide.

About Thermohair

Theresa Bergeron, a trailblazer with a vision, started Thermohair socks as a one-woman operation in 1992. She began using kid mohair from her own goats that was scoured, carded, spun, and knit at different mills across Canada. The results have produced incredibly soft and strong socks, blankets, scarves, and hats for this family run business with Theresa at the helm.
