These moccasins were hand-crafted by Jamie Gentry of the Kwakwaka’wakw Nation. Jamie cuts, sews, and carves every single piece, pouring a tremendous amount of love into each set. Jamie is an internationally recognized artist in this craft. She was always drawn to working with her hands, and once she found a teacher to teach her moccasin making, she never looked back.

A note from Jamie. "Is it cultural appropriation to wear moccasins if I am not Indigenous?" No. Supporting and buying Indigenous made ensures that you are purchasing authentically made. Not only are you supporting the artist’s work, you are also supporting their family and their community as most artists give back to their communities.

The Maker

Her passion for making moccasins continues to grow as it brings Jamie closer to herself while also forging connections with others. “My goal is to create meaningful connections through moccasins making. When we connect with the maker and the product, we are more likely to hold that product closer to us, and it is less likely for that product to end up in a landfill. I hope to contribute a meaningful product to the world, build connections and share culture.”
