Care Instructions
Carbon steel requires a little regular care, but it's also part of what gives these knives their character and exceptional edge.
Carbon steel will naturally develop a patina as it reacts with the acids in food. This darkening is completely normal and helps protect the blade over time.
For daily care, we recommend:
- Hand wash after use
- Dry thoroughly
- Apply a light layer of mineral oil before storing
- Store in a dry place
With a little care, your Leechtown knife will stay sharp, beautiful and ready for years of cooking.

Care Instructions
Knives from carbon steel are not rust-resistant and do require a bit of regular care — but it’s also what gives them their incredible sharpness and character. One thing to keep in mind: carbon steel naturally develops a patina as it reacts with the acids in food. This darkening is completely normal and actually helps protect the blade over time. Many people love the look of a well-developed patina, but it’s important to know that it’s part of the knife’s natural aging process and it can turn some folks off if they’re expecting the blade to stay bright and shiny. For daily maintenance, we recommend: Hand wash after use, Dry thoroughly, Apply a light layer of mineral oil before storing (ideally after each use) and Store in a dry place. With this simple care routine, your knife will stay sharp, beautiful, and long-lasting.
