Crafted on the coast of British Columbia, each carving by Bjorn Banke is a one-of-a-kind piece shaped from old-growth Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple or Cherry Wood. Our collection includes both wall hangings and freestanding works, each reflecting Bjorn’s deep connection to the wood, the land, and the ocean that have shaped his life and craft.

Inspired by the natural world and the inherent beauty of raw wood, Bjorn brings form and movement to each carving with remarkable skill and reverence. His work, such as the celebrated “Cedar Sun”, embodies the freedom he feels when creating and the rich experience of living on the ocean.

Cherry Moon and The Sea of Stars is a free standing piece and measures just under 14 inches tall and 12 inches across the widest part of the base.

    About Bjorn Banke


    Bjorn grew up carving in his father’s workshop on a remote island off Tofino—without running water or electricity, but surrounded by creativity. By age five he was carving with his grandfather’s tools, guided by a lineage of talented carvers, including his father, grandfather, and uncle Chris. This generational knowledge, paired with a lifetime spent immersed in the coastal wilderness, informs every piece he creates.
