Designed by the Wendat people, whose generations of knowledge have been shaped by the harsh winters of the Nionwentsio (Bastien territory), the A'tariha't bootie is crafted entirely from genuine sheepskin for exceptional warmth and comfort.

Soft, naturally insulating, and hand-laced in a warm natural tone, this ankle-height style is made to meet your feet from the moment they touch the floor. A piece rooted in timeless craft and everyday practicality.

These moccasins are designed for indoor wear.

We recommend sizing down one from your usual size. If you typically wear a US women's 8, select a 7.

  • Care Instructions

    Suede requires a different approach due to its unique texture. It is advisable to use a suede brush to gently lift the nap and remove any surface dirt. For stains, a specialized suede eraser can be effective. In cases of water exposure, it is crucial to let the suede dry naturally away from direct heat sources. Once dry, a suede brush can help restore its original texture. Fur, commonly found in mukluks and slippers, should be treated with care to maintain its softness and luster. Regular brushing with a soft-bristled brush can help remove dirt and prevent matting. If fur becomes wet, it is important to allow it to air dry completely before brushing. Avoid exposing fur to direct sunlight or heat, as this can lead to fading and damage.

Bastien Industries has been crafting moccasins since 1972, but they have a long history dating back to 1830 in Wendake with craftswoman Marguerite Vincent Lawinonkié. A people of diplomats, craftspeople, farmers, hunters and traders, the Wendat Nation has shaped the history of Northeastern North America for centuries. Through periods of growth since the 19th century, their moccasins are still all made in-house and they are now an internationally recognized brand.
